Who We Are

Ag Finance Specialists Pty Ltd was founded in 2015 by Donald Matheson who is the sole director / secretary of the company.

Donald’s career in Agribusiness Finance and Commercial Finance has spanned in excess of 25 year. Over the years he has worked in Wagga, Griffith, Hillston, Lake Cargelligo, Broken Hill with smaller periods of time spent in several other Riverina towns.

He has been involved in in Agribusiness Finance in the Riverina since 1991 and has resided in Griffith with his family since 1997. His wife Mandy operates her own business locally in Griffith and he has 3 boys who attend the local high school.

Don has a an extensive knowledge of broadacre irrigation, intensive horticulture as well as cattle, sheep and dryland farming.

He also has a solid skills set in regards to commercial business from retail through to wholesaling, manufacturing and hospitality.

During his time in Banking Don has held senior positions including being a Regional Manager for Southern New South Wales, responsible for the management of over 40 staff, as well as a being Senior Account Manager for clients with borrowings in excess of $10 million.

A love of the land and a strong affiliation with people off the land has lead him to operate his own business to provide advice and assistance to people from the land who need help with the management of their finances.

He holds a certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and is a member of the FBAA (Finance Brokers Association of Australia) and holds an Australian Credit License.
